Dr. Ken is a practicing physician (M.D.) who stepped back from daily patient care after losing his father to cancer. That loss drove him toward extensive health and cancer research, where he recognized the extraordinary potential of flavonols — and Myricetin in particular.

He spent two years searching the world for a plant that naturally super-produced Myricetin. In October 2017, he discovered Qing Yun Moyeam and began exclusively importing the platinum-grade tea into the United States.

The medical research community has since taken a growing interest in this molecule, with new peer-reviewed studies published monthly. Every product Pureami sells is supported by that literature.

The Moyeam Story

Heaven Tea is Discovered

The Tujia minority of China discovers Moyeam (Ampelopsis grossedentata) growing in the high mountain valleys. They present it to their king as a gift said to cure diseases, naming it "Heaven Tea."

1837

Reserved for the Emperor

During the Qing dynasty, the Tujia present Moyeam to the Emperor of China. The Emperor finds the tea has such remarkable health effects that he orders it reserved exclusively for himself.

2017

Arrives in America

After two years of research and searching, Dr. Ken discovers Qing Yun Moyeam — the platinum-grade, highest-Myricetin expression of the plant — and begins exclusively importing it to the United States.

The Platinum Grade Tea

The method of processing Moyeam (Ampelopsis grossedentata) was developed by the Tujia minority 600 years ago. It involves plucking, withering, partially fermenting (like Oolong tea), and hand rolling each tiny leaf and plant bud to liberate but not displace the Myricetin locked within each plant cell wall.

The rolling step — very labor intensive — produces its distinctive “white frost” or platinum color and enhances the flavor. Only “Qing Yun” Moyeam combines the “cream of the crop” harvest and the labor-intensive hand-rolling to produce this one and only Platinum Grade Tea.

Levels of the flavonol Myricetin (aka Dihydromyricetin or Ampelopsin) reach 30–40% by weight in Qing Yun Moyeam. Other grades of Moyeam typically have 3–6% Myricetin — a difference you can feel.

Qing Yun Moyeam of today grows in the same high mountain valley where this remarkable plant was first discovered over 600 years ago. The combination of perfect soil, natural mountain environment, and morning mountain fog creates one of nature's true wonders.
